I've been wondering if I'm able to start to dive into the open source code to learn a litle bit more about how LMMS works, and also to participate in the development and hopefully to solve some bugs, but in reallity it scares me a litle bit to dive in such a huge code without any orientation. My availibility is kind of limited, but I'm a good "general prrogrammer", and I enjoy solving problems. I can't promise I will solve / understand everything you ask, but I will do my best to help you. LMMS has been growing so much, and I've been wanting to give my own support as a programmer + music producer to make it achieve a larger audience. While not new, LMMS one of the more popular free DAWs currently available. ![]() I noticed an issue with the previous version when I used the note shifter in my keyboard with midi interface, but in the new one, I haven't found any critical issues so far. With such a huge selection of free and paid digital audio workstations (DAWs) to choose from, it’s tough to pick the right one for your needs. (Url: ) It would be interesting if Mac user can reproduce this issue.ĮDIT 2: I saw that some Linux distros also support sourround sound but in that case mostly PulseAudio? If I've choosen "7.1" (Windows 10 settings) but I use Logitech Gaming Software to get stereo sound, Jami still has this sound issue.ĮDIT: It seems that Apple devices such as Mac also allow to configure sourround sound. It should be mentioned that only the Windows 10 configuration seems to matter. Go to Choose your configuration and select audio channels that are NOT stereo (I think even Mono had issues? But at least 5.1 and 7.1). ![]() Go to Sound -> Playback -> select a playback device -> configure. You need to use a playback device that supports sourround sound It should even work if you use a virtual sound card like Voicemeeter Banana (Url: ) The audio driver has no effect on this issue #1401 (comment 37793). I have tried exporting with and without using 'Enable Loop points' to trim off the silence at the end. All the tracks have some silence on the end. For some reason all the tracks have all been transposed. Everything I export is higher than it should be (musically). Newest update of this issue: The issue does not appear if you use Stereo sound: #1401 (comment 38096) Hey guys, I'm trying to export my lmms piece and am having a several issues. Now everyone should be able to always reproduce using the following settings: Update I was also able to reproduce this issue on Windows 11 22H2 if I used Voicemeeter Banana (Jami: Output device "voicemeeter input") and select 7.1 surround sound. It's just the speaker setup that causes this issue if you change the Windows audio driver during the call it does NOT matter. ![]() I've updated all Jami apps to the newest beta version (Windows 10 & 11 (Android-version does not matter)) The Qt5 'HiDPI' stuff is as described a 'free' benefit from switching from Qt4 to Qt5, so that is mostly addressed here 2108. Issue 455 has specific files that can be fixed right now to help support better font scaling and is a place people can help right away. So to keep it short: Just install Voicemeeter Banana (Url: ) and configure the sound device as 7.1, 5.1 etc and you should be able to reproduce this issue The font issues are mostly a duplicate of 455. Though adapting to a remote-first model may be a difficult transition for leaders and teams, overcoming these common challenges now will help you build culture, promote productivity and foster a sense of connection across your teams for years to come.įorbes Technology Council is an invitation-only community for world-class CIOs, CTOs and technology executives. Is it just a coincidence that my last blog post was on September 7, 2021, or serendipity? Two years. In addition to empowering your teams to "run" into each other and catch up naturally, you could also create more exciting and engaging experiences for group bonding. Create virtual environments where team members can gather solo or with each other, like a park or even a beach. Implementing a virtual world within your organization could help your teams break free from an at-home environment. Simply seeing or hearing different things can be enough to inspire a fresh perspective. American Institute for Behavioral Research psychologist Robert Epstein told Fast Company that even making "very small changes" to work surroundings "can make a huge difference" when it comes to sparking creativity. I have some of my most creative moments when I run into people between meetings or when I work from different digital spaces. And while video calls may not allow you to create the engaging experiences or thought-provoking run-ins you're missing with watercooler conversations, virtual worlds do. Planned meetings and brainstorming sessions are valuable for generating ideas, but they don't always catch us at the right moment or can feel too structured for free-flowing ideas. Model what's possible by having spontaneous dialogue across teams and asking others to do the same. To facilitate conversation across teams, encourage employees to join cross-functional digital events like impromptu whiteboard sessions, game nights or happy hours. To break free from team silos and encourage cross-functional collaboration in a remote environment, we need to be more intentional about giving employees from different groups the opportunity to come together. Or when someone from finance gets caught up in a product development discussion, they have a better understanding of the importance of certain investments. For example, when an engineer overhears a marketing conversation in the office, they can contribute and take that idea to the next level. In addition to strengthening connection and community, liminal spaces and watercooler talk have the ability to bring people from different backgrounds and teams together. To encourage genuine connection and build a strong community, consider creating company channels like a WhatsApp group, Slack channel or an online message board where people can post about nonwork topics and share commentary when they're feeling inspired to. More neutral online spaces, where no one has strong ownership or plays a role in facilitating conversation, are ideal for reducing isolation and enabling genuine dialogue. While designing space for people to come together in a physical workspace is relatively straightforward, we're facing new challenges while working to achieve this in a remote-first world. On the other hand, without these so-called watercooler moments, team members are left with only structured time and work talk. They also provide people with an opportunity to bring their authentic selves to work and build community, which strengthens relationships overall and can foster a commitment to a company. Whether it's catching up on the latest episode of a popular show or talking about weekend plans, casual conversations enable team members to get to know one another and bond over common interests. Missing Human Connection And A Sense Of Community In a virtual world, for example, employees can communicate through a customized avatar that allows them to express their personality and be social with others without the pressure to be camera-ready. ![]() To increase energy and productivity across teams, encourage employees to take breaks and turn off their cameras when they're feeling fatigued. ![]() How do I record audio from my laptop using an external mic?.then you can plug standard mics into the interface. ![]() Some might prefer the simpler black frame of competitive products, but the VIZIO does stand apart from them visually. The Maximvs features an elegant new bronze-colored metal frame and a glowing VIZIO logo lending the set curb appeal, even when the picture is off. If your viewing distance is ten feet or more (as it probably should be for an image this large), the considerable premium you'll pay for a true 1080p plasma panel may not be worth the cost.ĭownward-firing speakers are hidden into the thin frame with a removable transparent sound reflector that allows the sound to travel forward without bulky stand-mounted front-firing speakers. From seven feet away (or less), the scan lines are visible, but over ten feet away, you'd be hard-pressed to see the pixel structure. Whether you "need" a full 1080p panel or you can get by with this 1366x768 pixel panel depends on how close you sit and how picky you are. The set's internal Genesis/Faroudja scaler converts 1080p and other input signals to the native panel resolution. Unlike some recent plasma offerings from Panasonic and Pioneer, however, the native resolution of this panel is 1366x768 pixels, not the 1920x1080 pixels available on a few considerably more expensive competitive products. ![]() The set supports input resolutions from 480i all the way up to 1080p (1920x1080 pixels, progressive). You'll be able to tune into SD and HD channels directly via a built-in tuner that supports standard NTSC television signals, QAM (digital cable) and ATSC digital over-the-air broadcasts. In addition to the usual complement of component, composite and S-video inputs, the VM60P offers a whopping four (4) HDCP-compliant HDMI inputs as well as a computer (VGA) input jack. Other 60-inch plasma sets are appreciably more expensive. If you shop around, you may still be able to find Panasonic's slightly smaller 58-inch plasma model from last year for around the same price but it has two fewer HDMI inputs, does not support 1080p inputs and won't be available for long as it's been replaced by a newer model. This makes it the least expensive flat panel HDTV in this size range by a fairly wide margin. Due to competition and price pressure, the set was recently reduced an additional $500 to just $2499.99. ![]() VIZIO's VM60P, also known as the MAXIMVS (pronounced maximus), debuted in January of this year at CES at a list price of $2999.99 and was available for purchase at warehouse stores such as Costco a few weeks later. What a difference a couple of years makes. So that's 50% more viewing area for around 30% less money. And while the difference between a 50-inch and 60-inch set may not seem like much, those ten inches actually get you 50% more screen area. And now VIZIO is offering the VM60P - a full 60-inch plasma flat panel HDTV for a list price of only $2499.99. In fact, on a shopping expedition with a friend two years ago, we were thilled to find him a 50-inch plasma set for "only" $3600 (after some serious negotiation). Not long ago, a 50-inch plasma HDTV would have set you back around four grand. |
